Brian Beckwith
About
Brian joined Lifemark in 2006 after earning his diploma in Massage Therapy from ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2001. Prior to joining the Lifemark team, he owned and operated his own massage therapy practice.
Constantly looking to learn and excel, Brian completed his 5-year diploma program to become an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (DOMP), taking his understanding of the human body and its interconnectedness to a new level and depth. With courses in myofascial release and postural correction, coupled with a certificate in Life Coaching, Brian uses a full body approach incorporating his bio-mechanical background and postural analysis to help determine the source of the patient's problems. With his techniques based heavily in myofascial release and osteopathy, he has had great success in treating scar tissue and postural related conditions that can lead to chronic pain.
Highly involved in the sport of swimming, Brian has served in several roles over his 20 plus years with swimming in Nova Scotia: from coaching roles in Shearwater, Halifax and as the 2013 NS Canada Games head coach to leadership roles as President of the Nova Scotia Swim Coaches Association and High-Performance Director of Swim NS. Brian continues his work with high-performance swimming, traveling internationally since 2010 with Swim Canada as a massage therapist.
Continuing his passion for sharing knowledge, he has had the opportunity to present to a diverse number of organizations. Combining over two decades of clinical, practical and educational experiences, Brian uses the concept of “Posture, Positivity and Performance” as a basis to help people reach their full potential.
