Justin Ladd
About
Justin has been working at Lifemark South Trail since 2011 after graduating from the University of Alberta with a Master’s degree in physiotherapy. Justin also has a Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Calgary (2008). Justin is certified through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and Kinetacore Physical Therapy Education to treat using acupuncture and functional dry needling (IMS). Additionally, he has completed certification in advanced acute knee assessment and care, and is certified by the Swodeam Institute in biomechanical assessment and peripheral joint manipulation. He has been a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Orthopedic division member since 2010, and is progressing through the Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy program. Justin was previously a clinically treating therapist for non-operative and post-operative shoulder injuries as part of the Southern Alberta Shoulder Care Clinic.
His physiotherapy practice utilizes a combination of manual therapy, exercise prescription and IMS/acupuncture to help resolve his patient’s conditions and reach their goals. Justin strongly believes in his patients understanding the reason for their injury and how they can both recover and prevent it from recurring, leading to a more proactive approach to their rehab.
Clinically, Justin’s focus lies in sports related and motor vehicle accident injuries along with post-surgical rehabilitation following joint replacement and ligament repairs. Justin has a special interest in shoulder, knee and ankle injuries in an active population.
Outside of work, Justin spends his time being active with his wife and daughter as well as going to the gym, swimming, golfing and curling.
