Troy Szaura

Physiotherapist

About

Troy graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master of Physical Therapy degree. He has taken post-graduate physiotherapy courses in advanced exercise prescription, hip osteoarthritis treatment and rehabilitation, cervical spine management through the Institute of Clinical Excellence, Mulligan’s concept of the lower quadrant, has completed the Orthopedic Manual Therapy level 1 exam and has his certification in Mental Health First Aid.

Since graduating, Troy has worked in Vancouver, BC in multiple programs targeted towards returning injured workers back to their full-time occupations, most often dealing with chronic injuries. His experience working alongside other health careprofessions has provided him the tools to develop a holistic and well-rounded approach to treating his patients. Troy believes in a client-centered evidence-based approach that empowers his patients to take control of their pain with a better understanding of their own body and the appropriate mindset to prevent further injury in the future.

Through his athletic background in sports such as hockey, soccer, basketball, football, volleyball and weight-lifting, Troy has a deep understanding of returning to sport following an injury from both the patient and therapist’s point of view. In his spare time, Troy enjoys snowboarding, walking his dog, and a good movie.
