Hugh Saunders
About
Hugh has been a practicing physical therapist for 31 years after graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 1991. He had also previously received a degree in Physical Education also from the U of S in 1987. Upon receiving his physiotherapy degree he moved to Calgary to begin practicing in private practice in orthopaedics and sport medicine. He has done many post graduate courses in orthopaedics and manual therapy along with a certificate in sports medicine. Additionally, he has obtained a certificate in medical acupuncture from the University of Alberta in 2000 and has incorporated medical acupuncture into his practice. His primary interest of practice is in conditions of the lower extremity (knee, ankle and hip) along with upper extremity (shoulder, wrist and elbow) and post operative care of ACL/knee surgery, shoulder surgeries and total hip and total knee surgeries. He has covered a multitude of sports including soccer, basketball, volleyball, rugby, hockey and football. He has also been a consultant physiotherapist for Decidedly Jazz Danceworks for approximately 20 years.
