Laurie Taylor
About
Laurie graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University in 2000 after studying integrated science and psychology at Dalhousie University and Memorial University. Laurie began her career working at the Waterford Hospital and Miller Centre in Newfoundland in the areas of outpatient mental health and in-patient general medicine and rehabilitation. Since this time, Laurie has gained experience in other areas of practice including, medical equipment sales, long-term care, and private practice/vocational rehabilitation.
Laurie joined Lifemark in 2011. In her role as a rehabilitation case manager, Laurie assists clients with hospital discharge planning, conducts in-home assessments to determine need for equipment and home modifications, and works with treatment providers and employers to facilitate optimal rehabilitation and return to work. Laurie completes job site analysis, job coaching, and ergonomic assessments, assists with vocational planning, prepares transferable skills analyses, and coachs clients through the job search process.
Laurie is a certified WorkWell functional capacity evaluation, and job site analysis assessor. She also has further training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and coaching.
