Mary Chow
About
As a former multi-sport athlete, Mary understands the devastating effect that injuries can have on performance and well-being. Her personal battle recovering from multiple traumatic shoulder dislocations was less than ideal, which ignited a dedication towards helping others to experience a more positive recovery process.
Mary’s focus lies in improving movement patterns to restore energy efficiency during movement. Her goal as a physiotherapist is to empower others to regain control over their body and mind to truly live their best lives. Mary holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, as well as a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. She has also completed intensive post-graduate mentorship programs with world renowned physiotherapists in the UK & US.
Her areas of interest include ACL injuries and Post-Operative ACLR rehabilitation, as well as sport related injuries. Treatment sessions typically include a combination of the following, based on each client’s unique needs:
- Patient Education
- IMS Dry Needling
- Hands-On Techniques (IASTM, active release)
- Graded Exposure Exercise Program
- Blood Flow Restriction Training
Outside of the clinic, Mary can be found hiking, weightlifting, exploring different cuisines to fill her bottomless pit, as well as playing hide and seek with her rambunctious kitty (self-proclaimed lion), Django!
Mary’s fluency in both English and Cantonese enables her to offer services in both languages.
