About
Sydney completed an Occupational and Physical Therapy Assistant diploma through the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, before bridging to complete her Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies at the University of Calgary. Navigating her education this way allowed her to gain an understanding of many different roles on an interdisciplinary treatment team, as becoming an Occupational Therapist was always the end goal. Sydney graduated from Queen's University in 2023 with her Master of Occupational Therapy; returning back to Alberta to begin her professional career.
Sydney's passion lies in getting her clients grounded and back to baseline- not underestimating the power in the mundane.
Her experience as an Occupational Therapsit has been primarily with congitive and functional rehabilitation to get her clients back to work and their meaninigful activities in a private practice setting. During this time she has completed a number of functional assessments, congitive assessments, home-based assessments, equipment recommendations, return to work assessments and planning, and addressing the impact mental health can have on function.
Sydney also enjoys completing ergonomic and workplace accommodation assessments, to ensure clients are provided with the tools they need to succeed.
In her free time, Sydney enjoys hiking in the mountains, practicing yoga, and perfecting her latte art.
